Aspirants who are interested to pursue B.Tech in Biotechnology course after XII standard can find a lot of Universities in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and so on.  They can seek admission to this course by appearing for entrance tests like All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) etc. There is Lateral Entry Admission for diploma holders and B.Sc graduates. Eligibility Criteria for pursuing B.Tech Biotechnology

First Year Admission - Candidates need to pass senior secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics as subjects. Certain Universities like Amity University give admission to the aspirants having minimum of 60% aggregate in senior secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology as one of the subjects. But in the case of Universities like Visvesaraya Technological University, Integral University etc., candidates are required to obtain minimum of 45% aggregate in XII standard. Minimum of 50% aggregate is required for Universities like Dr.D.Y.Patil University.

Lateral Entry Admission - To seek admission through Lateral Entry Scheme, one should require Diploma in relevant engineering stream with minimum of 60% marks. B.Sc graduates having minimum of 60% aggregate can also apply for Lateral Entry Admission if they have studied Mathematics during their senior secondary examination. But in the case of Universities like Maharishi Markhandeshwar University, one should require only minimum of 45% aggregate for Diploma and minimum of 50% aggregate for B.Sc degree.

Candidates are required to complete their senior secondary education or diploma from a recognized University/Board. Also they should obtain their relevant B.Sc degree from a University recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC).
