Research Scientists, The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology
Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology was established as a special fund project on November 17, 1962. The institute was established by United Nations Development Programme as a part of the India Metereological Department. The institute was provided an autonomous status by the Government of India and also a new name Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (earlier it was named Institute of Tropical Meteorology). This scientific institute is mainly responsible for the expansion of research in mtereology of the tropics. The functions of the institutes are controlled by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.
Job Profile:
The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology is looking forward to recruit beight talented candidates of Indian Origin on the following positions of Research Scientist i.e. Scientist ‘D’, Scientist ‘C’, Scientist ‘E’ etc. All posts are available in the disciplines of Meterology, Atmospheric Sciences, oceanography, Physics, Statistics, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics and Mathematics.
1. Recruitment of Scientist ‘E’:
No. of posts: Only 3 posts are available.
Age limit: Candidates are required to have age less than 50 years as on 31 May 2012.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in concerned disciplines from a recognized university or Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized institute with minimum 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level. Minimum 11 years experience in relevant research field is also needed.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.
2. Recruitment of Scientist ‘D’ (Library, Information and Publication Division):
No. of posts: Only 13 posts are available.
Age limit: Candidates are required to have age less than 50 years as on 31 May 2012.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in concerned disciplines from a recognized university or Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized institute with minimum 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level. Minimum 7 years experience in relevant research field is also needed.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.
3. Recruitment of Scientist ‘C’:
No. of posts: Only 4 posts are available.
Age limit: Candidates are required to have age less than 40 years as on 31 May 2012.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in concerned disciplines from a recognized university or Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized institute with minimum 60% marks at Graduation or Post Graduation level. Minimum 3 years experience in relevant research field is also needed.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
Selection Process:
The final decision on the selections of best suitable candidates will be made on the basis of the result of the interview test of each and every candidates. Candidates performing well in the interview test will be considered as selected ones. Every candidates should arrive fully prepared for the interview test.
