Admission Procedure of M.A Psychology course

Candidates who have completed B.A degree from a recognized University can apply for M.A Psychology course. Delhi University carries out admission to this course through a written exam and interview. Application fee for attending the entrance test is Rs. 400/- (for OBC and open category candidates). SC/ST candidates need to pay Rs.100/- only. Applications for the entrance test can be submitted through the website of Delhi University. Entrance exam is carried out as an objective model test having duration of three hours. Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, etc are the main topics covered under the entrance test. Those who pass this entrance will have an interview. During interview, 80% weightage is given to the score obtained in the written exam and 20% for the interview section.

Similarly, Dr. B.R Ambedkar University also carries out entrance test and interview for the screening process. The University conducts written exam in two sections. First section may cover questions on reasoning, English language and theoretical psychology. Second section will contain questions on the basis of certain reading passages published in the University website. Reading passages may contain details on the thought or works of thinkers, theorist, etc and the applicant can expect essay model questions from this. Those who pass the test will be called for final round interview.

Certain Colleges also offer admission on the basis of merit (marks obtained in qualifying bachelor’s degree. University of Calicut, Utkal University, Gujarat University, etc are some other Universities offering admission to M.A program in Psychology.
