Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Maharshi Dayanand University, Amity University, etc offers M.Sc degree in Forensic Science. Though a B.Sc degree is the preferred qualification in most of the Universities, certain Universities also considers engineering /medical graduates for admission process. Bundelkhand University select eligible candidates on the basis of their marks obtained in qualifying examination where as Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Maharshi Dayanand University, etc conducts entrance test for selection process. Topics like Forensic Biology, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Serology, and Criminology are included in the syllabus of these entrance tests.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc in Forensic Science

Eligibility requirements for M.Sc in Forensic Science course may vary slightly with University. Usually science graduates are eligible to seek admission to the course. Gujarat Forensic Sciences University insists bachelor degree in science/ engineering / pharmacy/medicine for admission. The degree must be obtained from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks. B.Sc holders with minimum 60% marks can seek admission in Amity University as well as in Maharshi Dayanand University. In the same way science graduates in any of the following streams (or equivalent) can look for admission in Institute of Forensic Science & Criminology.

Admission Procedure for M.Sc in Forensic Science

Certain institutions offer admissions on the basis of merit where as certain others conduct entrance tests for the selection process. Institute of Forensic Science & Criminology, under Bundelkhand University offers admissions on the basis of merit. Those who have passed the qualifying degree from Bundelkhand University will be awarded with 15% additional marks based on the marks scored in degree examination.

Merit list for admission in Gujarat Forensic Sciences University is prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in qualifying examination and entrance exam. The University itself conducts the entrance test and 55% weightage of marks will be given for the score obtained in the same. 40% weightage will be given for marks obtained in qualifying examination and rest 5% marks will be given for candidates who have completed their graduation in forensic science or related subjects.

Entrance exam for M.Sc in Forensic Science in Maharshi Dayanand University comprises of 100 questions each carrying 1 mark each. Duration of the test is 75 minutes. Main topics covered under the entrance test are given below.
