Admission to Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in Banaras Hindu University is carried out on the basis of performance in entrance test conducted by the University. Higher secondary education with Physics and Mathematics as subjects is the basic educational qualification required for the course. Final selection is on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in national level UET test. Application form for admission can be collected from the official portal of BHU.

Eligibility Criterion for B.Sc in Mathematics in BHU

Candidates who have passed higher secondary examination are eligible to apply for the course of bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. They should secure a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate so as to be eligible. Apart from this, they should have studied any of these subjects such as Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Computer Science, Informatics practices and Geography. Candidates should have secured at least 50 % marks in Physics and Mathematics in their higher secondary examination.  Candidates who are not more than 22 years at the time of application are not eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to reserved category can avail the relaxation in marks and age as per the norms issued by the government of India.

Admission Procedure for B.Sc in Mathematics in BHU

Admission to the three year under graduate programme in Mathematics is made on the basis of score obtained in entrance test conducted by the University. The national level entrance test (UET) is conducted by the University usually around the month of May every year. The exam is conducted in various centres such as Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. Final selection will be based on the scores obtained by the candidate in the written test.

Exam pattern of Entrance Test

The Admission test usually comprises of one Paper. There will be 150 objective types multiple choice questions. Time duration of the entrance exam is 150 minutes. Questions will be based on topics studied in higher secondary examination. Maximum marks allotted for the written test is 450. Candidates can expect questions from topics such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be 50 questions from each section.

Application Procedure for B.Sc in Mathematics in BHU

Candidates seeking admission to graduation are required to apply for the entrance exam in prescribed application form. Application form can be downloaded from the official website of the University. Fully filled applications along with supporting documents should be sent to the office of the Examiner within the stipulated time. Late applications will be rejected without intimation. Eligible candidates will be intimated about the written test.
