Admission to two years Diploma in Education in District Institutes of Educational Training in Andhra Pradesh is carried out in the basis of scores obtained in common entrance exam, DIET CET. Minimum age limit for this examination is 17 years. Higher Secondary education is the minimum qualification.
Eligibility Criteria

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Candidates are required to complete at least 17 years of age at the time of application. There is no upper age limit for this examination. Those who have completed Higher Secondary education in any stream from a recognized board of examination are eligible to apply. Final year candidates who are awaiting results are also eligible. Such candidates are required to pass the qualifying examination with required marks at the time of admission. Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. Physically challenged candidates and those who are belonging to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste require 40% marks so as to be eligible. Those who have completed Higher Secondary course through vocational courses are not eligible to apply for this examination.

Exam Pattern of DIET CET 2012

There will be multiple choice objective type questions in this examination. The exam comprises of three parts. Part I will contain questions from topics such as General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude Test. There will be 5 questions from each of these two topics. Each question carries one mark. Part II contains questions from the following topics.

  • General English
  • Telugu/ Urdu/ Tamil

Of these, 10 questions will be asked from General English. Twenty questions will be asked from the remaining topics. Maximum marks allotted for this part is 30. Part III will contain a maximum of 60 questions. Of these, 20 questions will be asked from Mathematics, 20 questions from Social Studies and remaining 20 questions from Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences.

Questions will be asked from the topics prescribed by Andhra Pradesh board of examination for standard VIII to X. Medium of instructions will be in English, Urdu, Telugu and Tamil languages.

Application Procedure

Candidates who wish to appear for this examination are required to apply online from the official website of the organization. They will have to pay the examination fee of Rs. 200/-. Application fee can be paid online or through e-Seva centers. Candidates can select the center of examination while filling up the online application form. Candidates are advised to apply as soon as possible to avoid the last minute issues. Those who have successfully submitted the application form will receive the call letter for examination.
