To get admission to any professional course like engineering and architecture in the state of Karnataka, students are required to sit for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. The Karnataka CET is held every year by the Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore. The details of the test are given below:

The exam consists of tests on physics, chemistry and mathematics. All the exams are of duration of 80 minutes. The candidates who aspire to get admission to a private college or whose mother tongue is Kannada have to sit for a Kannada language test. This test is also of duration of 80 minutes.

The chemistry paper, as said above will be of duration 80 minutes. The questions will be MCQs. The question paper will have 16 versions. The questions will be given four options of which only one is correct. All the questions carry one mark each. To score well in the test the students should attempt all the questions. Negative marking is not there in the exam. Multiple answers ton a single question will be treated as a wrong answer.

The First and Second PUC syllabus, as prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka, forms the basis of the questions of the test.
