Technical courses in GIFT and Admission Process
Gandhi Institute for Technology or GIFT is a constituent institution that runs under Gandhi Group of Institutions. The college affiliated to BPUT offers technical courses like B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA. Admission to B.Tech courses are done on the basis of AIEEE/ISEET, Orissa – JEE, or OPECA CET, whereas that for M.Tech is done on the basis of GATE score. OPECA CET for MCA or AIMCET exams is counted for admission to MCA course.

Admission Procedure of Technical Courses in GIFT
Admission to the Bachelor of Technology courses are done on the basis of common entrance exams conducted by respected authorities. This include Orissa - JEE organized by state government, AIEEE organized by CBSE, common entrance test (CET) organized by Orissa private engineering colleges association. Basically the applicant should have completed the higher secondary course with mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects and also either biology, bio-technology, computer science, or chemistry as subjects.
Other than admission to first year of the engineering program, eligible candidates can also join 2nd year of B.Tech course. Direct entry to 2nd year is made on the condition that the students should have at least 60% mark in concerned branch of diploma engineering/ Polytechnic and also a pass mark in Orissa JEE.
Admission to Master of Technology courses are done based on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Also the students should be having a minimum marks in the concerned branch in Bachelor of Technology.
Any graduate irrespective of their stream (including engineering) is eligible for admission to MCA program. Such a candidate should have studied mathematics as a compulsory subject at plus two level educations. Along with that, the eligibility required is a valid score in Orissa JEE or common entrance test (CET) exam organized by OPECA. Candidates who have qualified national level entrance exams like AIMCET can also take part in the selection procedure.
Admission will be offered for candidates who can produce the original marks certificates and other necessary documents at the time of joining. After document verification and fee payment, one can confirm their selection to the particular technical program.
