Candidates having completed bachelor’s degree in subjects like Physical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences and Pharmacy can apply for M.Sc (Biotechnology) in Kashmir University. Admission of eligible candidates is done on the basis of University level entrance exam and marks obtained in qualifying degree exam. Entrance test is conducted in two papers for 100 marks. Applications for attending the written exam can be submitted online through the web portal of Kashmir University.

Eligibility Requirements for M.Sc (Biotechnology) in Kashmir University

Bachelor degree holders with a minimum of 55% marks can apply. Degree must be obtained in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern in any of the following subjects.

  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Veterinary Sciences
  • Fishery Science
  • Pharmacy
  • Engineering/Technology
  • Medicine (MBBS)

Admission Process for M.Sc (Biotechnology) in Kashmir University

Eligible candidates should appear for the entrance test conducted by the University. Written exam comprises of 80 multiple choice questions. There will be two papers for the test, each conducted on a single day. Paper I include 60 multiple-choice questions each carrying 1 mark. In Paper II, there will be short answer type questions of 20 numbers. Each question from Paper II carries 2 marks to make a total of 40. Therefore the total marks for the test is 100.

Final section of eligible candidates is done after evaluating their performance in written exam and qualifying degree marks. 60% weightage will be given for entrance test marks and the rest for the marks obtained in qualifying degree. If two or more candidates have scored equal marks in the entrance test, then the one with high marks in bachelor’s degree will be considered for admission.

Application Procedure for M.Sc (Biotechnology) in Kashmir University

Application for attending the entrance test can be submitted through online method. Once the filled up application form is submitted, a distinct form number will be issued by the system, which should be noted for future reference. Application fee charge for attending the test amounts to Rs. 245/-. This can be deposited at any of branches of J&K Bank Ltd using a pay in slip downloaded from the web portal. After online application, print out copy of the submitted application form, fee payment slip and attested copies of mark sheets must be deposited in any of the information centers of the University. Hall tickets for attending the test can be downloaded from web portal of the University.
