Admission Process for M.Sc in Forestry

Candidates with B.Sc degree in Agriculture or Forestry are eligible for admission. Those with bachelor’s degree in Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, or Zoology can also seek admission. Admission criteria and process may vary slightly with University/institution.

Forest Research Institute conducts written test for selection process. The test is carried out in objective model that must be completed with in 3 hour time duration. There will be 200 questions for the test from the following areas.

  • Basic Sciences
  • Interpretation of Tables and Graphs
  • Arithmetic and Quantitative ability
  • Quantitative reasoning
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
  • Computational ability
  • English Language

School of Forestry & Environment under Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Technology and Sciences also conduct written test for the selection process. Those who possess any of the above mentioned qualifications with minimum 50% marks can attend the test. There will be 160 questions for the test. Out of the total questions, 120 questions will be related to topics on agriculture, forestry, etc. Rest of the 40 questions is based on the general aptitude.

Those who pass the written test should undergo a counseling session conducted by the concerned institution. Candidate should submit documents like TC, mark list from matriculation till graduation, caste certificate (if required), etc in this session.
