Thadomal Shahani Engineering College commenced in 1983 is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college offers B.Tech programs in subjects of Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, etc. Admissions are done either on the basis of Maharashtra-Health Technical-Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or All India Engineering Entrance Test (AIEEE). Admission Procedure in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College
51% of the total intake capacity is reserved for Sindhi quota candidates (for those belonging to sindhi community) and 20% for management quota. 5% of the seats are reserved for NRI candidates. Eligible candidate must be an Indian national. They must have completed XII class studies from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or equivalent. XII class studies must be completed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in subjects of physics, chemistry and mathematics. Also, these students must have studied English as one of the subjects.
Those seeking admissions to Bachelor of Technology in Biomedical Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in Biotech Engineering must have obtained the required qualification with Biology as a subject. Those with adequate qualifications can seek admissions either by qualifying Maharashtra-Health Technical-Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or All India Engineering Entrance Test (AIEEE).
Training and Placement in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College
The Training and Placement cell of TSEC is well managed by the efforts of ‘training and placement officers’. These officers act as a link between college and industry people. They are responsible for the whole process prior from pre-placement talks till recruitment. The main objective of training and placement cell is the placement of maximum number of students. They try to provide at most two job options for each student and the second one being the final.
The Training and Placement cell conducts activities to improve communication and personality of the students. They guide students on how to face a recruitment process and make them aware on the do and don’ts while attending interviews.
An Entrepreneurship Cell is also working under Training and Placement cell. The main aim of this entrepreneurship cell is to create job givers than job creators. More precisely, the cell strives to create at least 1% of the students as future entrepreneurs.
