Details on “Legal Officer (Grade B)” Recruitment in Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
LLB graduates with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for “Legal Officer (Grade B)”post in RBI. 2 years work experience is a pre requisite for this post. This can be either as an Advocate in any of the high courts or Law Officer Post in any state or central department or recognized company or institute. The selection step comprise of a Written Test as well as P.I.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduate degree in Law is essential to apply for Legal Officer (Grade B) post in RBI. Candidates should take up LLB degree from any institute recognized by the Bar Council of India. 50% marks in LLB course is compulsory for this position in RBI. A work experience of 2 years is compulsory for this officer post. Candidates should either have practiced as an advocate or else should have worked as a Law officer in any of the legal department of any institute of high repute. It is necessary for candidates to study Computer Applications to apply for this post. The higher age limit of candidates applying for this post should be 32 years (Age relaxation given to SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). Post graduates in Law are also eligible to apply for this post in RBI.
Selection Process for “Legal Officer (Grade B)” in RBI
It is required to attempt written examination in order to become part of selection process for “Legal Officer (Grade B)” post in RBI. The written examination consists of two type questions – Multiple choice and Descriptive type questions. The details about the scheme of selection test is as follows –
Part 1 - General Knowledge of Law (Total 150 marks)
- Objective type questions – 30 marks
- Subjective type questions -120 marks
- Total time – 3 hours

Candidates who emerge successful in written test must attend Personal Interview. Candidate’s performance in P.I round will be evaluated to arrive at the final selection list.
