Selection of candidates to Executive/Legislative/Committee/Protocol Assistant/Junior Library Assistant/Junior Clerk is done through a preliminary and mains exam. Selection of ex-serviceman to Security Assistant Grade-II position is made through personal interview and that of Security Assistant Grade-II (Technical) via physical measurement tests, field tests, written test (descriptive type) and personal interview.

Selection of candidates to the posts of
- Executive/Legislative/Committee/Protocol Assistant
- Junior Library Assistant
- Junior Clerk
are done on the basis of prelims and mains exam. Preliminary exam to these posts are common and is of qualifying nature. Those who pass this level are only considered for mains exam. The exam covers questions from these subjects.
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs
- General English
Prelims exam is conducted as objective type for 100 marks. Time allotted for answering this session is 50 minutes.
Mains exam for post of Executive/Legislative/Committee/Protocol Assistant comprise of questions from (i) English Essay, Précis, Comprehension and Grammar and (ii) Constitution of India. 150 marks are allotted for each paper and mark distribution for (i) English Essay, Précis, Comprehension and Grammar paper is as follows.
- English Essay – 60 marks
- Précis – 40 marks
- Comprehension – 25 marks
- Grammar – 25 marks
Second section of the ‘Constitution of India’ includes descriptive model questions only.
Mains exam for Junior Library Assistant comprise questions on Library Methods and Techniques (paper I) and English Essay, Précis, Comprehension and Grammar (paper II). Each of these papers carries 100 marks and time allotted for each of the section is 3 hours.
After prelims, further selection to the position of Junior Clerk, is done via a descriptive model written test and typing test. Descriptive paper comprises of questions on essay writing, letter writing and grammar for 100 marks (2 hours). Typing test is conducted for 100 marks and time duration allowed for the same is 10 minutes.
Selection Procedure for Security Assistant Grade-II (Technical)
Selection of candidates for the post Security Assistant Grade-II (Technical) are done through physical measurement tests, field tests, written test (descriptive type) and personal interview. Those who pass the physical measurement tests will be considered for field tests. Such candidates were considered for the descriptive written test with two papers. First paper cover questions from general studies for 100 marks (2 hours). Second paper contains questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for 100 marks (2 hours). Candidates who have cleared this section should get through the final section of personal interview (25 marks) to confirm their selection to the job.
Selection Procedure for Security Assistant Grade-II
Selection of ex-serviceman to Security Assistant Grade-II position is done through a personal interview section. The session carries 25 marks.
