Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has issued notification for recruitment to various technical and trade positions. Candidates having completed 10th and with ITI diploma can apply till 1st, July, 2013. Selection process include the stages of physical standard test/physical efficiency, written test, trade test , medical test, merit list preparation, and final selection.

Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test

Physical Standard Test/Physical Efficiency Test is the first stage of the selection process. Those who have applied for the position of Fitter and Driver are initially tested for height standards. Candidates with required height are subjected to 5 Kms race which must be completed within 24 minutes.

For all other positions, except fitter and driver, candidates are subjected to 1 mile race, as the initial step of selection process. This is of qualifying nature and the time limit specified for male and female candidates are in the order of 10 minutes and 12 minutes respectively.

Qualified candidates in the above mentioned levels are called for document verification process.  The original testimonials / certificates of the candidate are tested and those who fail to meet the eligibility are eliminated from the further stages of recruitment process.

Physical standard test is the next step in this stage of selection process (except for the profile of fitter and driver). The height, weight, and chest of the candidate are screened and those who fail to meet the required standards are rejected from the recruitment process.

Written Test

Candidates having qualified Physical Standard/Efficiency Test should attend a written test as the very next stage of selection. The written test comprises of two parts and there will be questions for 100 marks. The Part I of the question paper include questions from topics covered up to class X and Part II is based on the technical topics covered under the particular trade. Part I comprises of 50 questions from the following topics.

  • General awareness / general knowledge
  • Elementary mathematics
  • Ability to distinguish patterns
  • Analytical aptitude
  • Basic knowledge in English/Hindi

Trade Test

Candidates having qualified the written test are subjected to a practical trade test. The working knowledge of the candidate in the concerned trade is evaluated through their performance in an activity (given) in the particular trade. The test is of qualifying nature and candidates need to score a minimum of 20 out of the total of 50 marks scheduled.

Medical Test

The prescribed physical and medical fitness of the candidate is checked in the fourth stage of selection process, medical test. The medical officers of CRPF conduct this fitness test to check whether the prescribed medical standards have been met.

Preparation of the Merit List

Those who have qualified the successive stages of selection process are included in the merit list. Merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written test.

Final Selection

Final selection is made after producing the original documents for submission. Documents for submission include mark certificates, domicile certificate, caste certificate, and so on.
