Candidates having qualifications such as MBBS, B.E/B.Tech, or B.V.Sc can apply for M.Sc (Bioinformatics) in Pune University. Selection of eligible candidates is made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the University. Topics like English Language, Logical Reasoning, Computer Science, Molecular Biology, and Genetics are asked for the entrance test. Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc (Bioinformatics) in Pune University

Bachelor degree holders in science (any stream) are eligible to apply. Other than this, applicants holding any of the following educational qualifications can also apply.

• Bachelor of Technology
• Doctor of Medicine (MBBS)

• Bachelor of Ayurvedic Studies

The required qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 60% marks. In case of reserved category candidates a minimum of 55% marks is enough to apply.

Selection Process for M.Sc (Bioinformatics) in Pune University

Total intake capacity for the course is 30. Fifty percent of the seats are reserved for candidates of Maharashtra and the remaining seats are open even for candidates outside the state of Maharashtra. Selection of eligible candidates is made on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the University. There are two papers for the entrance test, conducted in objective model.

Paper I include 100 multiple choice questions of 10+2 standard. Duration for this paper is 90 minutes. Questions for the test are asked from the following subjects.

Application Procedure for M.Sc (Bioinformatics) in Pune University

Application for attending the entrance test can be submitted online through the web site of Pune University. Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 500/-. Reserved category candidates need to pay Rs. 350/- only. Fee payment can be made in the form of cash through HDFC Bank or Bank of Maharashtra. It is also possible to make fee payment through online fee payment gateway of the University. Those who submit applications successfully can download admit card at least two weeks before the exam scheduled date.
