Masters is always a better option, it gives you an advanced scope in getting a better salary.

It is always advisable to do Masters in an IIT as compared with a job.

Power Sector will be on a very big boom(somewhat similar to IT sector in 2000-2004) as new regulations are giving opportunities for private players to set up plants which in turn increases employment.

If you are unable to manage IIT's this time in GATE, join a good comopany(moderate may do as well) and gain some experience along with which you must prepare for Masters. Gaining a year or two of experience and then going for a Masters gives you a job with a much higher renumeration

Many of the IIT's offer courses in Power Plant Engineering, some other institute offering similar courses is NPTI(National Power Training Institute)

If we want to apply for a job in Public sector utilities, is there any procedure for the same? Does one have to appear in any sort of competitive examination? If yes, then when and where to get the forms for the same? At present I have just completed my Second Yr. B.Tech in Electtronics & Communication.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
