Annamalai University is a pioneer in the field of distance education. This university offers an M.Sc. in Botany which is a two year course. In the second year, there is the vital subject Taxonmy of Angiosperms, Economic Botany, Environmental Biology, Phytogeography & Elements of Forestry. The exam of this subject is of three hours and 100 marks. There are three sections in the exam. The first section has short answer type questions, the second one has long answer type questions and the third section has essay type questions. There are many internal choices in the question paper, except the first section, which consists of eight questions and all are compulsory.
