The Intelligence Bureau also called as IB is the internal Intelligence Agency of the country and it is among the oldest intelligence agencies of the world. It comprises of employees from military, Indian Police Service and Law Enforcement Agencies. However, the Director of Intelligence Bureau has always been an IPS Officer. Intelligence Bureau, works under the Ministry of Home Affairs and it discharges various functions of which the crucial function is maintenance of internal security.

Among the different officer positions available in the Intelligence Bureau, some of the positions are brought under Group A Gazetted officers, Group B Non-Gazatted Officers and Group C Non-Gazatted Officers. As far as the Assistant Central Intelligence Officer position is concerned, they come under Group B Non-Gazatted Officer rank, which is equivalent to inspector position.

Recruitment by BARC:

Intelligence Bureau invites application from eligible candidates for the position of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer.

Name of the position: Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade – II

Number of Vacancies: 750

Reservation of seats:

Out of the total 750 vacancies for the position of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, reservation of vacancies is as follows: For Schedule caste (SC) candidates – 112 vacancies, for general category candidates it is 380 vacancies, for Schedule tribe (ST) candidates it is 56 vacancies and for other backward class (OBC) category, it is 202 vacancies.

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification: For applying to the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, applicants must be graduates in any discipline from an recognized university and they should possess knowledge of computers as well.

How to Apply:

Candidates should submit the applications in prescribed format only through online registration and candidates can apply by registering themselves with the Website of Ministry of Home Affairs at www.mha.nic.in and they should submit the online applications before the 14th of June 2011.
