Union Public Service Commission was set up the then British Indian Government on the demands of Indian Politicians. The first ever public service commission was set up in the year 1926. The commission is actually a constitutional body which conducts competitive examinations for the appointment to the varous civil services of India. This government organisation is authorized to make recruitment to the services and posts under Union and central Government. One of the major functionality of the commission is to advise the Government of India on all matters relating to the methods of recruitments.

Job Profile:

Union Public Service Commission is going to conduct examination for making recruitment on the following positions of Assistant Legislative Counsel (Assamese), Assistant legislative Counsel (Oriya), Junior Scientific Officer and Medical Officer. The posts are available in Ministry of Law & Justice, Ministry of Labour & Employment and Directorate of Health Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

1. Recruitment of Assistant Legislative Counsel (Assamese):
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 40 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Law are also eligible to apply for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Legislative Counsel (Oriya):
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 40 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Law are also eligible to apply for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

3. Recruitment of Junior Scientific Officer:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Psychology or Education from a recognized university with atleast two years experience in the application of Psychological Techniques of Appraisal or Aptitudes and Interests.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4600.

4. Recruitment of Medical Officer:
No. of posts: Only 27 posts are available.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess a recognized Medical qualification included in the first or second schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Amount of application fee for General and OBC categories candidates: Rs. 50
The application fee is exempted for SC/ST/PH or Women candidates.

Candidates must submit the amount of application fee in the shape of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. No other means or mode of submission of application fee is acceptable.
