Union Public Service Commission was intially founded as the Federal Public Service Commission. Federal Public Service Commission was actually established on October 1, 1926. The commission was established under the Government of India Act 1935. Later on, the formation of the Public Service Commissions at the Provincial level was also made as a provision under the Government of India Act 1935. Federal Public Service Commission was later changed into an autonomous entity named Union Public Service Commission. Thus, Union Public Service Commission actually came into existence on January 26, 1950.

Job Profile:

Applications in the prescribed performa are invited from eligible candidates for making direct recruitment to the following positions of Assistant Director, Registrar, Senior Scientific Officer and Labour Enforcement Officer. Selected candidates will be appointed on probation as per rules.

1. Recruitment of Assistant Director:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Not more than 38 years.
Educational Qualification: B.V.Sc. or B.V.Sc. and Animal Husbandry degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

2. Recruitment of Registrar:
No. of posts: Only 1 post is available.
Age Limit: Not more than 48 years.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Arts/Science from a recognized university or equivalent with atleast 5 years of experience in teaching and administration.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

3. Recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer:
No. of posts: Only 2 posts are available.
Age Limit: Not more than 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Electronics Engineering or Master’s degree in Electronics/Applied Physics/Physics from a recognized university or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

4. Recruitment of Labour Enforcement Officer:
No. of posts: Only 16 posts are available.
Age Limit: Not more than 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Commerce or Degree with Economics/Sociology/Social Work as one of subjects from a recognized university or equivalent.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 8000-13500.

Selection Process:

A Walk-In-Interview comprises the whole selection process for all the above specified posts. The interview will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the eligible candidates on a specified date only. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the Walk-In-Interview.

How to apply: Application form complete in all respect and also in the prescribed format should be sent alongwith the required documents (copies of Date of birth certificate, education certificate, experience certificate etc). The envelope containing all the above specified enclosures are required to be sent on or before the last date for the reciept of application.
