im am a commerce with type stduent and i want to join nda.can i appear the exam if yes ,what are the requirements and when iss the exam held???

Eligibility for appear in NDA entrance exam are:

A candidate must either be :

i) a citizen of India, or
ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
iii) a subject of Nepal, or
iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status :

A candidate must be an unmarried male and have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year succeeding the year of examination.
Candidates must not marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful will not be selected for training.
Educational Qualifications :

For Army wing of National Defence Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course at the Naval Academy :- 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply.

NDA (National Defense Academy) Examination was conducted by UPSC Twice in a year and to apply for this examination Candidates Must Have completed his 12Th examination from a recognised Board.

Since you are form Commerce Background then you are eligible only for Army Wings in NDA Examination.

There are Three Wings in NDA, Army Wings, Air force Wings and Naval Wings.

>> For Army Wings -- Candidates Must have completed his Intermediate examination in any Discipline from a recognised University.

>> But for Naval Wings and Air Force Wings -- You need To complete Your 12Th examination with Physics and Mathematics.

So You are Only Apply for Army Wings, And If your age should between 16.5 to 19 Years, then you are eligible to apply for NDA Examination.

The following are the educational qualifications required to apply for NDA exam

12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Since you have taken commerce group in 12th you are eligible for applying for Army Wing only.

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence academy and Naval Academy Examination,for admission to Army,Navy,Air Force wings to N.D.A.

N.D.A Examination consist of

Army :- The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized board or equivalent qualification and the candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.

Navy :- The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized board or equivalent qualification with Physics and Mathematics and the candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.

Air Force :- The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized board or equivalent qualification with Physics and Mathematics and the candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.

the candidates should be a indain citizen
unmarried candidates can only apply

yes you are eligible.
Out of the 3 wings of NDA , you are eligible for Army as it requires intermediate and no restriction of science subject. Though for naval and air force you are not eligible as they require physics and chemistry as a compulsory subject.

Eligibility for the NDA EXAM:

You must have passed you class 12th in any stream for the army.
You must have passed class 12th with physics and maths as a compulsory subjects for navy and air force.
You must be between 16.5 to 19 years of age .

NDA exam is done in three phases :

1.Written Exam ::

Paper I is of Mathematics of duration 2 Hours and maximum marks 300
Paper II is of General Ability Test of duration 2 Hours and maximum marks 600

The question asked are of objective type and there is negative marking also present .

2.SSB ::Only if you clear the written exam you will get call for SSB

3.Medical exam:Once you will clear the SSB you have to wait till your medical exams get over .

The UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) conducts the NDA(National Defence Academy) exam which is held every year twice.

You can apply for the NDA exam as per your qualification.

sir what is the syllabus for a commerce student for NDA

NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY [NDA]

You want to serve the nation, which is really appreciable..Through this examination , a candidate can apply in all the combat forces of the INDIAN ARMY .i.e.
Naval force..
air force wing
military branch..

Fh..or apply in Naval & in air force wing, you must have Physics & Maths in 12th with minimum 60%..
Hence, you can not apply for the Navy & air force, but you can apply for the Military branch

The age limit exist for this examination is 16.5-19 years , there is not any kind of age relaxations are applicable for the any reserved category.

As maths is the core subject for the NDA exam, you must have mathematics in 12th class.

National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year to intake qualified Candidate for different department in Defense service like Indian Airforce, Indian Navy,Indian Army.

Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam:
Education qualification:
For Indian Navy/Indian Air Force:You should complete 12th class with PCM stream.
For Indian Army:You should have complete 12th class with any stream from a recognized university.
Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.
Citizenship: Indian

NDA-I and NDA-II exam are conducted twice in year, because the person who was not able to attend for NDA-I exam, he can apply for NDA-II exam in the same year, without having gap between the education.

NDA-I exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.
Exam will held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.
Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.

Yes, you can join N.D.A though you are the from commerce stream.

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
After qualifying this exam you can start you career in defence sector like:-
>> Indian Army
>> Indian Air force
