You must hold a bachelors degree in any discipline
You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be over 30 years.
The maximum age limit is 33 years for OBC category and 35 years for Sc/St category.
The notification for the examination is published on the official website of the union Public Service Commission and in some of the India's major Newspapers, including Employment News.

Sorry, Sunny!

To be eligible to appear for the IPS exam (it is merely a part of the Civil Services Exam), you have to be a graduate in any discipline. So, the Intermediate qualification does not help.

The registration process for the current year is already on and you can get the details from the UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in/.

Finish your degree first.

IPS Exam Eligibility
For getting selected to the IPS, there are two types of eligibility. One is that you should be eligiblefor appearing for the IPS exam and the other is that after clearing the mains and while appearingfor the physical tests during the interview stage you should meet all the physical and other requirements as mandated. Let's discuss these in detail.
There are no special requirements for appearing for the IPS exam as it is part of the Civil Services examination. So if you fulfill the criteriafor civil services exams you, by default, qualify for IPS exams as well. Tobe eligible for the civil services exams:
*. You must be at least 21 years of age at the timeof filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not morethan 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories).
