National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur is a type of Institute of National Importance. It was established in the year 1960 as one of the 20 NITs in India. Mr. B. Muthuraman is the Chairman of the institute with an academic staff of 150 people. The campus of the institute is spreaded in an area of 350 acres. Dr. Rajnish Shrivastava is on the post of the Director in institute. Initially, the institute was known as Regional Institute of Technology. The institute offer various engineering and basic sciences at the undergraudate, graduate and doctoral level courses. The institute consists of various departments including Civil Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering etc.

Job Profile:

National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur is recruiting indian nationals belonging to the SC/ST and OBC category candidates on the posts of Assistant Professor and Lecturer purely on contract basis. Candidates will have to work in the different departments such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Electronics & Communication Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Material Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Application and Humanities.

Eligibility:

All the interested candidates should have their age in between the prescribed minimum and maximum age limit set by the National Institute of Technology for the posts of Assistant Professor and Lecturer. No candidates other than SC/ST and OBC category, are required to apply for the specified posts.

Educational Qualification:

Post Graduation degree or Master’s degree is the minimum educational qualification required for the posts of Assistant Professor and Lecturer in National Institute of Technology. Candidates possessing Ph.D. degree as qualification, will get the special preference over other candidates.

Pay Scale:

Assistant Professor: Consolidated salary of Rs. 33000 per month.
Lecturer: Consolidated salary of Rs. 30000 per month.

Selection Process:

The final decision about the selection of the candidates will be made by the National Institute of Technology only and that too on the basis of the result of the personal interview session of each candidates with the selection committee.
