Anna university also provides lateral entry scheme for students who wish to gain a degree in engineering after diploma. The course is approved by the government of Tamil Nadu. The candidates who are willing to join the course can obtain the form directly from the Centre for Entrance Examinations and Admissions, Anna University, Chennai. Candidates can also get this application form from the selected centers. The lists of centers from which the candidate can get the form are mentioned in the advertisement of the exam notification. The candidate needs to remit an amount of Rs.500 as the registration fee for the examination. The amount is collected in the form of cash. The SCA/SC/ST candidates need to pay only Rs. 250.

The candidates who cannot obtain the form directly can get it by post. They can send a request to the Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions with a demand draft taken in the name of The Secretary (TNEA), Anna University. The draft should be payable at Chennai.
