Home science is a degree which blends concepts and theories from various subjects like Arts, humanities and science.  Bachelor of Home Science is an undergraduates program where the students after successfully completing the course are awarded a BA or B Sc degree. Eligibility Criteria for B Sc Home Science program

The basic qualification required to apply for B Sc home science is a pass in twelfth or higher secondary course of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination Board. Those with home science as specialization in +2 are given special preference.

The candidates opting for a course in Home Science need to study the basics of physics along with chemistry and biology in the first year of their graduation. This is the main reason for keeping the course open only for science graduates in some institutions. The percentage of marks needed for a student to pursue the course is 50% while some institutes also take students with a lesser percentage.
