The Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology carries out an admission test - the Joint Entrance Exam for the admittance of students to the graduate level (B.Tech) programs in plastic engineering and technology. The CIPET is a leading institution that is set up the Indian Government for the Academic, Technology Support as well as Research of plastic and its related industries.

The CIPET was established first in Chennai in the year 1968. Now the CIPET has 14 other centres in many Indian cities. The courses offered by this institution comprises of:

  • Diploma
  • PG Diploma
  • Undergraduate
  • Post-Graduate
  • Doctoral courses (PhD)

One thing that is to be noted is that there are not many institutions within our country that offer courses in plastic engineering and technology.

The CIPET JEE is carried out annually in the month of July. The selection of aspirants into this course is done on basis of the performance of the applicants in this entrance examination. The admittance of aspirants is done as per the norms of the affiliating university.

Structure and Syllabus for CIPET JEE Entrance Exam

This admission test is performed in a single stage. The syllabus of the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology Joint Entrance Exam (CIPET JEE) will consist of questions from subjects like:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics

The paper shall also include questions from General Knowledge.

Question Pattern of CIPET JEE Entrance Exam

The total number of questions carried by this paper is 100. This objective type test is to be attempted in 2 hours time. The syllabus of this examination will be similar to that of class 12.

Preparing for CIPET JEE Entrance Exam

When preparing for the CIPET JEE entrance examination, candidates need to be well aware of the exam pattern and the syllabus. To get more idea about these topics, they can try to get the model question paper or any previous question paper. These can be got from any leading book stores or at the end of the chapters of reference books. Question papers and more details of this examination can be got form the internet as well.

One other thing all students need to keep in mind to understand what part of the portions is difficult for them. With an understanding about this, candidates shall be able to finish their studies earlier. Each part can be allotted a definite time limit and aspirants can try to finish studying within this time. Not only will they get a better idea of their studies, but also they will get more confident at the time of the exam. Besides going for coaching, aspirants can also study from their class 12 notes. These notes will be more familiar for them and they will thus be able to understand the concepts better.
