This test is held under Central Institute of Tool Design along with collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. The objective of this test is for selecting candidates for its four semester post graduation programme in Mechatronics. This test can give entry to an institution having training in CAD/CAM and LCA techniques. This institute provides training in latest techniques of tool design.

Structure and Syllabus of CITD M.Tech Admission Test

This examination is objective type in nature. The maximum time allotted for this exam is two hours. Examination has one paper with following subjects given below.

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Basic and Digital Electronics
  • Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic System
  • Thermal Engineering
  • Production Technology
  • Metallurgy and Material Science
  • Measurements and Instrumentation
  • Control Systems
  • General Aptitude (Analytical and Reasoning)

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should have B.E. or B.Tech degree in any of the following streams given below

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Production Engineering
  • Automobile Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics
  • Electronics and Communication
  • Electronics and Instrumentation
  • Mechatronics or equivalent

A candidate to be eligible should have qualified in their degree with at least 55% marks from an AICTE approved institution. Even though no age limit is specified, preferable age is below 45 years. Candidate who is appearing for the qualifying examination is eligible only if they have completed their degree by the time of counselling.

How to Apply?

Central Institute of Tool Design issues the application forms after the candidates have paid an application fee (General Category-Rs.500/-,SC/ST-Rs.250/-).Exception from paying the application fee is given for PWD candidates. Candidates can receive the application forms through post. For that DD should be send together with an envelope addressed to the applicant itself with stamp worth Rs.15/-. DD taken in favour of  Principal Director, Central Institute of Tool Design, Balanagar, Hyderabad- 500 037 should be a payable one at Hyderabad. Any nationalized bank can issue DD as specified by the candidate. Caste Certificate copy should be produced by SC/ST candidates with attestation from Gazetted Officer along with the envelope requesting application form.

”Request for application for M.Tech (Mechatronics)” title should be written on the envelope used for sending request. Application form is present on the CITD website also. Website is www.citdindia.org. Application fee as DD should be taken in this case. This should be send along with the form. Form should be send together with an envelope addressed to the applicant itself with stamp worth Rs.5/-and a acknowledgment card for knowing if the application is accepted or not. If an applicant cannot send application form within the specified date, late fee of Rs.500 is charged. There is also a date specified for sending forms with late fee. Beyond that date applications forms are not accepted.

How to fill the Form?

Applicant should specify their course in capital letters. While writing name, address etc. block letters are preferred. There is code given for specifying category. Applicant should specify the code correctly. Any mistake will deny the provision for relaxation specified.

Details of payment of fees should be written correctly. Passport size photograph is needed with attestation from any Gazetted officer. It should be placed on the space mentioned in the form. Whatever is specified to be filled in the application should be filled by the applicant. If the applicant does not fill the form properly there are chances of rejection of application.

Study Plan

Study materials and text books can be got through offline as well as offline. Try to refer those materials which beneficial for preparation. Dividing topics into different sections and allocating specific time for each will make the studying interesting. Try to study first the topics with relevance. While dividing topics make it sure the sections are divided based on the knowledge about each topic. Thus difficult section can be studied thoroughly. Trying to attempt past years question papers will help to manage time and acquaint with exam. While scheduling time for studying, give some time for taking an interval from studying. Taking intervals frequently will refresh mind for studying again.

How and Where To Get the Results?

CITD will submit the results in their website. Website is http://www.citdindia.org. Candidates can verify whether their names are present or not to confirm their admission from the list given. Call Letter for Counselling will also be available along with it.

Score Validity

CITD M.Tech Entrance test will provide score after candidate attempts this exam. For admission procedure this score is considered. Validity is specified for this score. It is twelve months.
