The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), Raipur was formed on July 20, 2001. Since then it has been setting the guidelines for most of the schools in Chhattisgarh. This board offers many subjects for the class ten students, Urdu being one of them. In Urdu they are taught Urdu language as well as Urdu literature. This is not a compulsory subject and hence only interested students opt for this subject.

Outline of the Paper

The 100 mark paper is set such that it analyses both the grammatical and the analyzing capability of the student.  The paper is scoring enough to allow for many objective type 2 mark questions. The first eight questions are generally of two marks questions, while others can be of around 4 to 6 marks.

The Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme

The question paper analyzes the analytical capability of the student by making him translate Urdu to Hindi and vice versa. Also there are questions like writing a paragraph on a given topic. Generally this paragraph writing question is of six marks and gives the student a choice between two topics. Other than this most of the questions in the question paper are compulsory. There are also comprehension type questions where the student has to read a passage and answer questions accordingly.
