Indian Overseas Bank was established in the year 1937 under the Government of India. The bank is famous for being one of the leading bank of Public Sector. The bank has its head quarters located in Chennai with branches spreaded in all over India. Mr. M. Narendra is the present Chairman and Managing Director of the bank. There are total 2018 domestic branches and six overseas branches of this bank at present. The bank has a network of about 771 ATMs spreaded in the country. Nupur Mitra and A. K. Bansal are the Executive Directors of the bank.
Job Profile:
Indian Overseas Bank invites applications from eligible Indian Citizens for the positions of clerk in different states of India. The different states includes the name of Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Karnataka, Gujarat, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Jharkhand etc.
Eligibility:
Candidates must be a citizen of India. The minimum age limit set for the post of Clerk in Indian Overseas Bank is 18 years. And the maximum age limit set for the post is 28 years as on 1 January 2011. SC/ST categories candidates will get relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit. On the otherhand, OBC category candidates will get relaxation of 3 years in upper age limit.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates are required to have passed in HSC of 10+2+3 pattern with atleast 65% marks in aggregate from any recognized board. Candidates possessing Diploma in Banking with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from any recognized institute, are also eligible for applying on the post of Clerk in Indian Overseas Bank. Graduate candidates are desirable for the post though. Computer Literacy is must for the candidates desiring for the specified post.

General category candidates: 605 posts are available.
SC category candidates: 165 posts are available.
ST category candidates: 92 posts are available.
OBC category candidates: 238 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get the consolidated salary of Rs. 7200-19300 per month. Candidates will also get the DA, HRA etc as per the rules of Bank.
Application Fee:
Candidates should submit the application fee of requiste amount through the payment fee challan which can be downloaded from the bank’s website. For General and OBC category candidates, the amount of application fee is Rs. 250. Rs. 50 is to be paid as application fee by the candidates belonging t SC/ST/PC/Ex-SM categories. Application fee is to be paid in cash only at any branch of Indian Overseas Bank by the means of a payment challan.
Selection Process:
The selection process for the specified post includes both written examination and a personal interview test. The written test will comprise of objective questions only. Only successfull candidates of the written test will be called for the personal interview test on the specified date.
How to apply: Candidates are required to apply online only. Any other form of application will not be accepted by the bank. Candidates will have to produce originals as well as attested photocopies of educational and experience certificates, at the time of interview only.
