Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (Technical) 2012
Coast Guard is a special wing in the Indian Armed force. The Coast Guard in our country is responsible for the protection of vast Indian cost lien and it is considered as the forth wing in the Indian Armed force. The Indian Coast Guard carries out various recruitment examinations which provide lot of employment opportunity for the right talents. The origination conduct the technical examination for the Class I Gazetted Officers called the Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (Technical) Recruitment Examination.
Structure of Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (Tech) Exam
The Assistant Commandant Examination (Tech) exam has phases. The first stage is the Mental Ability Test which is also called the preliminary examination, evaluates the candidate’s potential skill in the following areas,
- General Awareness
- General Intelligence
- Reasoning
The eligible candidates of the MAT should clear the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT). The shortsighted candidates of the PPDT will call for the Final Selection Board, were they have to clear the
- Psychological Test
- Group Testing
- Interview (Personality Test)
The eligible candidates have a medical test which is the final stage of the selection process. The selected candidates will have two yeas of probation and at this period they have to undergo the vigorous training.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must have an Engineering degree from the recognized university in India with an aggregate of 60% marks. They can be from the engineering stream of marine, Aeronautical, Mechanical, electronics and naval architecture. The B.Tech or B E candidates of Industrial and Production, Control and Production, Metallurgy etc. are also eligible for appear for the examination. They must also have a minimum of 60% marks in their higher secondary stream also. A candidate who has passed the A and B sessions with minimum 55% marks from the institute of engineer (India) is also eligible for appearing the examination.
The age of the candidates must lies between 21 and 30. The minimum height requirement is 157 cm with proportionate weight. The chest expansion preferred is 5cm and they should have a normal vision (6/12 or 6/36).
How to Apply?
For taking the Mental Ability Test the candidates need to attend the registration venue as described in the notification. The candidates from the different zonal area have their own registration centers, Chennai, Mumbai, Nodia and Kolkata. The candidates need to submit the application form obtained along with the notification came in the employment news or the hand written form in the suggested format in this registration centers. One can also download the form from the official website of cost guard.
How to fill the Form?
The candidates can fill the form as the instruction given in the notification r described in the cost guard website. They have to clearly state their post applied for and their academic qualification in the suggested columns clearly with out any mistakes. Try to give information in capital letters only and do not do rewrite on the filled columns. Fill the data only on the suggested columns and affix the self attested color photo of the suggested size on the place given for. Along with all the needed copy of the attachment submit the form on the registration center.

The examination is conducted twice in a year, normally at the month of January/February and in June/ July.

Study Plan
One should be well prepared to score a top rank in the MAT and only those who can cut the benchmark are eligible for the next round. Though there is no specific syllabus is suggested for the MAT, the candidates can prepare for this part with different reference books in this topic. You will get the model question papers and mock test for different examination of the same nature and can practice with those materials. There are many coaching centers in the country which helps the candidates in preparing for the examination like this; you can join such institutions also. Searching the internet will also provide you the study material sand previous year papers for the coast gaud examination. The new papers and journals of the current issue will also help you to take the examination well.
How and Where To Get the Results?
The list of eligible candidates for the FSB is obtained in the cost guard official website. The final result of the selected candidates is also available in the same and the candidates need to visit the website in the daily basis for the latest updates regarding the exam.
Score Validity
The score will valid until the announced vacancy for the particular examination is filled and the candidates need to take the next examination for considering for the vacancies occur after this period.

if ur application is short listed then
In psb u will be facing the following tests
1. Verbal and non verbal reasoning - elimination is there
2.again second round of mental ability tests - elimination is there
3. psb interview - GK, GA , q’s from ur degree subjetcs and general topics and current affairs- elimination is there. if u clear the interview u will receive admit card for FSB.
I cleared SSB and recieved admit card for FSB last year. but due to some reasons i couldnt attend FSB.
