Condensed Matter Physics and its applications
Condensed matter physics includes the condensed phases of matter and its physical properties. This also includes the laws of quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics, and electromagnetism. This field is closely connected with materials science, chemistry, nanotechnology, biophysics, and atomic physics. Theoretical condensed matter physics shares many significant techniques and concepts with nuclear physics and theoretical particle.
Courses in Condensed Matter Physics
Condensed matter physics offers courses at both UG and PG levels. For pursuing Bachelor of Condensed Matter Physics, the candidates must have completed 12th with at least 50% marks from a recognized institute. The Masters of Condensed Matter Physics is applicable for the candidates who have completed bachelor’s degree in Physics from a recognized university. Some of the best places to pursue these courses are Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Indian Institute of Science, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Indian Institute of Physics, Anna University, etc.

Applications of Condensed Matter Physics
Condensed Matter Physics deals with the study of solids and liquids. This is a highly advanced branch of physics where the focus is primarily on the microscopic physical qualities or characteristics. The studies in condensed matter physics include crystallography, super solids, superconductivity, super fluids, and ferromagnetism. The concepts of specialized studies in this field are semiconductors, magnetic resonance force microscopy, process and production in nanotechnology, lattice composition of liquids and solids, etc. The students are taught with the effects of the demagnetizing fields on the NMR spectra, concepts of vibrancy coupling, theory of vibrating wire viscometer, photonic crystals, ultra cold atoms, etc.
This branch of physics has application in computer chipset manufacturing services, metallurgical field, glass industry, and electronic industry. These students are highly required in research firms and major academic institutes all over the world. The qualified scholars in condensed matter physics are needed in significant application projects like assignments provided by astronomical institutes and defense research and processes. The students who do this course are exposed to Fermi fluids, Fermionic condensate, and Bose-Einstein condensate.
