Course Structure Of MCA From IGNOU
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is one of the best universities that offer many bachelor and master degree courses in India. The university provides only distance education courses for the graduation and post graduation courses. There is an added advantage in doing MCA from IGNOU because of good course structure.
Objective of MCA program
The key objective of IGNOU’s MCA course is to provide the aspirants a beneficial career in IT industry. The course deals with the application of software technology in solving commercial, mathematical, and computing problems. The university also provides an outstanding environment for research and teaching in the rising areas of the discipline. The program aims on providing the candidates a complete background in application-oriented and theoretical courses significant to the latest software development.
Eligibility Criteria
For pursuing MCA course from IGNOU, the candidates have to complete their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. IGNOU is following different education systems for computer and non-computer steam candidates. Applicants form non-computer stream are required to pursue CIC along with MCA semester I. Graduates with PGDCA from a recognized university are also eligible to apply for the course.
Programme Structure
The course structure of MCA is designed in the most suitable way by IGNOU. This program includes 31 courses worth 108 credits. MCA is a 3 year course, which includes a total of 6 semesters. The syllabus for the MCA course is as shown below.

Semester VI:

After completing the first year of MCA course, IGNOU will provide a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application certificate to the candidates. They can develop their communication and managerial skills after completing MCA.
