National institute of Technology Agartala conducts various courses at graduate, post graduate and PhD level. Admission to all undergraduate programmes is based on the scores obtained in All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE]. The institute considers GATE score as well as marks obtained in the qualifying examination for the admission to post graduate programmes in the field of engineering. The institute has tie up with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for various programmes in Information and Communication Technologies.

Admission Procedure in NIT Agartala

B.Tech Courses: Admissions to undergraduate courses are based on the scores obtained in AIEEE. Reserved category students can avail the benefits provided to them as per the government rules.

M.Tech Courses: Admissions are made on the basis of the GATE score. Candidates having 60% marks in graduation are eligible to apply. Reserved category students need 55% marks to qualify.

Admission to MBA course is based on the CAT/ MAT score and the marks scored in qualifying exam. Candidates will have to go through G D and personal interview as part of the selection process.

PhD Courses: Admission to all PhD courses are made through the marks obtained in qualifying exam. Candidates having 60% marks in post graduation are eligible to apply. Engineering graduates with 85% marks are eligible to apply for PhD programmes in Engineering. MBA graduates with 55% marks can apply for PhD programme under Humanities and Social Science.
