NIT, Agartala also known as Tripura Engineering College established in 1965, affiliated with Calcutta University and upgraded to NIT in 2006. Afterwards, college was affiliated with Tripura University and was granted the status of Deemed University. 

Infrastructure or campus:

The campus is well established, spread over an area of 335 acres and provides 2 girl’s hostel, 4 boys hostel and 1 for freshers only. Other facilities include: - computer lab, E-library, banking & post office, health care, etc.

3. Doctorate

Admission procedure:

For B.Tech courses:-

Students who have passed their 10+2 with at least 50%marks in physics, chemistry and maths from a recognised board are eligible and admission is done on the basis of AIEEE score.

For postgraduate courses:-

Students who have completed their bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 60% marks   are eligible and admission to ME/M.Tech program is done on the basis of GATE score. Candidates having 2 years of work experience in respective field are also eligible.

For MCA program; candidate must complete their +2 with at least 60% marks and graduation with Business mathematics/ mathematics/ statistics as one of the subjects.

For Doctorate program, students must complete their master’s degree with 60% marks and bachelor’s degree with 70% marks. For entry, gate score is required.

Placements:

NITA graduates get proper and satisfying placement on successful completion of their course in India and abroad in various public and private sector companies like WIPRO, GAIL, IBM, DRDO, etc
