CUSAT CAT-BA LLB 2012
CUSAT CAT-BA LLB is a test held by CUSAT. The purpose of the test is to give admission to candidates in the BA-LLB course offered by CUSAT. This course has five year duration. CUSAT is offering Post Graduate course in Kerala with excellence from 1971. Main authorities of this University are the Syndicate, the Academic Council and the Senate. Academic structure of this university constitutes nine faculties: Engineering, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Marine Sciences, Medical Sciences & Technology, Science, Social Sciences and Technology. There are twenty seven departments under this university.
Structure and Syllabus CUSAT CAT-BA LLB
Pattern of test is objective in nature. There are 150 questions partitioned in four sections. Candidate stands to gain one mark for each correct answer. Negative marks will be there for each wrong answer. Questions specified will cover the following areas.
- General English - 50 questions
- Logical Reasoning - 50 questions
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25 questions
- Law related matters - 25 questions
Candidate must necessarily select only one option. If they select more than one answer, it will be considered as wrong. Applicants who attended test with suitable score will proceed for GD and Interview.
Eligibility Criteria
Only those who passed plus two can apply. The qualifying marks for each specialization is as follows
- Science - 60%
- Commerce – 60%
- Arts - 55%
- Humanities - 55%
Only candidates who have not crossed 20 years can apply. There is an exception for those belonging to SC/ST. For these candidates the maximum age limit is 22 years.
How to Apply?
Application forms are accessible on the website www.cusat.nic.in. First of all download the chalan form. Also do download the application form as well. With that make the payment for the fee in State Bank of India or State Bank of Travancore. They will give back the University copy with journal number. Applicants should place that copy with the filled application form which was downloaded. While sending this, make sure the copies of specified certificates for claiming relaxation is attached along with it. Applicants need to draw a DD which should be payable to the Registrar, CUSAT. The place where it should be payable is at Ernakulam. Application fee for general category is worth Rs.850/-. For SC/ST candidates it is Rs.375/-.
How to fill the Form?
Rejection of application will happen if it is an incomplete one. Ensure the letters are entered in capital form. Columns specifying category should be filled carefully. Recent photograph should be affixed on the form. All the instructions are provided in the site while applying online. Those who do not prefer site should thoroughly read prospectus before filling the form. Any mistakes come across the application will make it eligible for rejection. So the details given on application should be true to the knowledge of the applicant. Applicants must personally fill the application with no errors.

Date of Downloading the Admit Card from the University website: 2nd Week of March to 1st Week of April

Official website of CUSAT will provide the results. Official website is http://www.cusat.nic.in/. List of the candidates will be there on this site. It will be in the order of ranks. Candidate can verify this list and know their positions. Thus they can confirm whether they will get admission or not.
Score Validity
On qualifying the examination candidate will get a score. The score will be calculated according to the formula S = 3R – 1W, where S is for the CAT score, while R for number of right answers and W for number of wrong answers. With this score they can go for admission. But there lies a validity period for a score. For the score obtained from this examination, the validity period is one year. Candidates having invalid score will not be eligible for admission.
