The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is a pioneer institute that was launched in the year 1963 by the Indian government. Though it was once known to be an autonomous body to promote foreign trade in India, it now known to be more of a B- School. The IIFT ranks in the midst of the top institutes of management in our country. This is proved by the large number of students who apply every year.

The IIFT exam is considered to quite tough. Amongst the other reasons that increase the toughness of the exam, the cut off marks is the most important one. Only those students who score above the stipulated cut off marks will get a call letter from the institution. Details of the IIFT cut off’s of the earlier years are provided below.

IIFT Cut-off Marks in 2010

The question paper of the IIFT has 4 parts. Each question possessed four options for the students to choose from. Negative marking of -1/3 marks was given for each incorrect answer. The paper carried a total of 100 marks. Details on the sectional break up are given below:

English

General Awareness   – 30 questions

Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation   – 35 questions

Quantitative Ability   – 30 questions

The English paper is divided in to two parts: Part–1 (10.5 marks) RC – 15 questions; Part–2 (12.5 marks) EU – 25 questions

Cut-off 2010

• Quantitative Aptitude: 5 cut off marks
• English: 8 cut off marks
• Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation   : 8 cut off marks
• GK: 2 cut off marks

Total: 30 cut off marks

The overall cut off marks that were desirable by a student to receive a call letter from the IIFT Delhi was approximately 30 marks.

IIFT Cut-off Marks in 2009

The exam included of 4 parts as the Verbal Ability section was split into two subsections. They are:

• Grammar and vocabulary
• Reading Comprehension

There were 122 questions and the paper carried a total of 100 marks.

Cutoff marks:

• Data Interpretation - 9.67 cut off marks
• General Awareness - 2.27 cut off marks
• Quantitative Ability - 3 cut off marks
• Verbal - 8.48 cut off marks

Total 37.4 cut off marks

IIFT Cut-off Marks in 2008

Given below are the IIFT cut off marks for the year 2008

The IIFT paper of the year 2008 was split into six sections. The paper carried 150 questions and the total marks were out of 100.

Cut off’s:

• Data Interpretation - The students needed more than 5 cut off marks
• General Knowledge - The students needed more than 3cut off marks
• Quantitative Ability - The students needed more than 6 cut off marks
• Reading Comprehension- The students needed more than 3 cut off marks
• Reasoning Ability - The students needed more than 9 cut off marks
• Verbal Ability – The students needed more than 7 cut off marks

As a Total, the students required more than 33 cut off marks. No marks were deducted for unattempted questions this year. Conversely, each wrong answer got a penalty of -1/4 marks.
