Bachelor in teaching will enable the candidate to define new methods in teaching. Delhi University conducts B Ed entrance exam so as to admit students for B Ed in various colleges recognized to Delhi University. The exam is expected to be conducted every year by Delhi University. The notification for the examination is usually given during the months of March/April and the exams are held in May/June.

Structure of D U B Ed Exam

The candidates have to answer the questions based on reasoning skills, language skills as well as teaching aptitude skills. Candidates those who score 65 percent or more in the written examination will be called for the interview.

Section I includes the objective paper with the following sections,

  • Bilingual Language Comprehension (30 marks with 40 minutes)
  • Mathematical Thinking & Reasoning (30 marks with 40 minutes)
  • Subject Knowledge (40 marks with 50 minutes)

Section II is a paragraph writing part, Written Expression (10 marks with 20 minutes)

The Written Entrance Test is divided into two sections. All sections are compulsory. Candidates short-listed for the Written Entrance Test will be called for Interview. Parameters for the Interview are Subject knowledge, oral communication ability, understanding of children and social issues, potential for critical thinking, general awareness and reading interests.

Syllabus for D U B Ed Exam

The examination consists of two parts, part A and part B.

Part A (1 mark each)

  • General English Comprehension or General Hindi Comprehension- 10 questions
  • Logical and analytical reasoning- 20 questions
  • Education and General awareness- 25 questions
  • Teaching Learning & the school- 25 questions

Part B (answer any one of the following) (20 marks)

  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Social Studies
  • English
  • Hindi

Eligibility Criteria for D U B Ed Exam

Candidates those who wish to join the D U B Ed course should satisfy any one of the following criteria. The Candidate must be a graduate holder from any recognized university with not less than 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2+3 or 11+2+2 pattern. A minimum of 55% aggregate marks is needed for 10+2+2 or 11+3 pattern.

How to Apply for D U B Ed Exam?

Candidate can obtain the application forms from the Central Institute of Education or from the selected branches of State Bank of India. One can also obtain the application form through post by mentioning the name of the course along with a demand draft of Rs 425/- in favour of the registrar of Delhi University. The DU B Ed application forms can be obtained from the following centers.

How to fill in the form for D U B Ed Exam?

The duly filled ICR (Intelligence Computer Recognizer) application form along with the receipt should be submitted at the Department of Education, University of Delhi. Candidates can also send the application by post and it should reach the Dean, Faculty of Education, Department of Education (CIE) University of Delhi, 33, Chhatra Marg, Delhi – 110 007, on or before 07 June 2011.

  • Last Date for submission of Application Forms: Second Week of June, 2012

Study Plan for D U B Ed Exam

  • Set the portions within a certain limit.
  • Choose a place that is not likely to be interrupted by noise, music or family members.
  • Avoid concentrating on one subject for a long time as it is easy to get bored.
  • Formulate points while you study
  • Recollect what you have studied on a paper
  • Watch videos on the related topic
  • Draw the pictures and diagrams

We find it difficult to stick on to a particular plan when you are in short of time. If you allot some space in between the time table, you can make use of it.

  • Make sure that you make constant improvements in your learning process
  • Create an effective plan to achieve your aims.
  • Work out how much time will be given to studying.
  • Plan when exactly you will do this study.
  • Write down simple tasks.
  • Set a target time frame to have each task completed.
  • Make clearly defined, written goals for each week.
  • Always aim higher than you can.
  • Once you have your goals agreed, you will find yourself more motivated and you will work more.

Score Validity

The DU B Ed Exam score is valid for one year.
