Details of BSNL TTA Exam
BSNL TTA Exam is conducted for selecting candidates to the post of Telecom Technical Assistant (TTA) in the various telecom circles. Those who possess technical degree or diploma are eligible to apply for this exam. Three papers are there in the exam i.e. General ability test, Basic Engineering and Specialization. A candidate has to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each of these three papers to pass the test. Candidates can choose either online or offline application procedure for forwarding their application.
Candidates having three year diploma in any of the following streams are eligible to appear for the TTA Exam
- Electronics Engineering
- Radio Engineering
- Instruments Technology
- Telecommunication Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology
Those who possess M.Sc degree in Electronics can also apply for this exam. If the candidates have higher qualification in any stream specified above (masters level or more), then they can also write the exam.
Age limit specified to apply for TTA Exam is between 18 and 27 years. However, age relaxation will be given for those who belong to SC/ST/OBC and PH category.
OBC candidates can claim age relaxation of maximum 3 years while SC/ST candidates can claim up to 5 years. Relaxation of maximum 10 years will be given for Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates.
BSNL TTA Exam is a written exam having 200 multiple choice questions.
General ability test comprises of 20 questions having one mark each. Total 90 questions will be asked in both Basic Engineering and Specialization papers with one mark each. All the three papers should be answered within a stipulated time period of 3 hours.
General Ability Test will include questions from antonyms and synonyms, general knowledge and quantitative aptitude while Basic Engineering section will have questions from basic engineering subjects like Applied Mathematics, Digital Techniques etc.
Specialization paper will include the following sections.
- Section A: Electrical
- Section B: Communication
- Section C: Networks, Filters and Transmission Lines
- Section D: Instruments and Measurements
- Section E: Control Systems
- Section F: Microprocessors
- Section G: Computers
Candidates need to attempt only 2 sections from this according to their specialization.
Online Application Procedure
Candidates should first of all download the application form from the official website of BSNL along with the Information Brochure. Then they should fill up each column in accordance with the instructions given in the brochure. Duly filled forms should be sent to BSNL office with necessary documents. Applicants should send an application fee of Rs. 500/- (No fee for SC/ST/OBC candidates) along with the application in the form of demand draft.
Offline Application Procedure
Candidates can purchase the application forms from BSNL office in person after paying an amount of Rs. 500/-. If the candidates prefer to receive the forms through post, then they should send a request letter to the Account Officer of BSNL along with a demand draft of Rs. 500/-. Duly filled forms should be sent to the BSNL office through registered or speed post.
