Difference between Bachelor in Architecture and Bachelor in Design
The Bachelor of Architecture is a degree programme that teaches the students the finer points about the construction and erection of buildings. The duration of the course is 5 years. Candidates who have completed their B.Arch course are eligible to go for the M.Arch program. A Bachelor of Design course is also an undergraduate course. It has many specializations like fashion design, graphic design, product design, jewelry design and multimedia design. The duration of the course is 3 years.
Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch) Course and Career Opportunities
Candidates who are appearing for this course must have finished their class 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks. Graduates of any stream are eligible to apply too. Those candidates who possess an International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 50% marks can apply too. Students who want to join the B. Arch. Program should have passed the National Aptitude Test in Architecture exam. This exam is carried out by the Council of Architecture. There are many job opportunities available for students of architecture. They can find employment as design architects, project architects or as project managers. The remuneration of professional architects will be around Rs. 20, 000 to Rs. 50, 000 each month.
Bachelor in Design Course and Career Opportunities
Candidates who wish to join this course must have finished their 10+2 class. The students must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in their final exams. The course has duration of 4 years. Some institutes and colleges conduct their own exams for admitting students into this course. Candidates who clear the written exams will be called later for a personal interview. Students of Design have a lot of career opportunities. They can find work as Packaging Designer, Magazine Stylist, Art Director, and Web Designer in addition to jobs as Fashion Consultant, Fashion Stylist, jewelry Designer, Event Manager and Fashion Illustrator. The remuneration of the candidates will vary on the basis of their position and the company they work for.

Architecture is mainly concerned with the construction of buildings and designing it. The job of an architect also involves in the making the place where the building is located more aesthetic. Candidates are taught to use their creativity and imagination while designing a structure. Designing is concerned with the combining of small parts of any structure to make it eye catching. Be it a piece of jewelry, a dress or a website, designing it makes it more striking. Another difference among B.Arch and B.Design is, while the former uses the aspects of engineering in it, the latter doesn’t use it.
