D.M. College of Science became a separate entity in the year 1975 with bifurcation from its parent college known as Dhanamanjari College, which was established in the year 1946. Initially, the college received affiliation from Calcutta University in the year 1946 and in the year 1949, it came under the jurisdiction of Guwahati University. In the year 1981, the college got affiliation from Manipur University.

Course Details:

D.M. College of Science is offering both general and honors degree courses under science stream. A student, who wishes to take up general course, shall offer the foundation courses in any of the subject combinations provided by the college. The honors degree is science is offered in subjects like zoology, statistics, physical education, physics, mathematics, geology, chemistry, botany and anthropology. A student admitted for honors course can shift to pass course within six months from the commencement of the first academic year. If a student has completed first year in honors course, he/she cannot shift to pass course.

D.M. College of Science conducts an orientation programme every year for the students along with their parents/guardians and the objective of this programme is to keep them informed about the rules & regulations of the college, academic programmes and norms followed by the college and about the different sections of administration working under the college.
