Am I eligible to appear in UPSC exam if pursuing PGDCA in IGNOU?
Respected Sir,
I am a student of IGNOU doing PGDCA. Can I appear for UPSC examination? Will there be any problem since I'm from IGNOU? Waiting for your response. |

Yes, you are eligible to appear in UPSC Examination even if you are studying from IGNOU. IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is a open university which is a distance learning national university. The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) recruitment is "Graduation or Bachelor Degree" from a recognized university. Since you are going to complete required degree from a recognized open university, you are certainly eligible to appear in UPSC related examinations. There are many examinations which are conducted by namely, SCRA, Civil Services (Prelims and Mains), Indian Forest Service Examination, NDA and NA Examination and Combined Defense Services Examination.

Now you are doing post graduate diploma in computer application in IGNOU, it means you are graduate student. Therefore you are eligible for UPSC exam.
UPSC conducts various civil services exam every year. Eligibility for UPSC exam: You should have passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university. Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible. There is no percentage requirement. Your age should be between 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.
