Can I pursue Mechanical Engineering after completing Polytechnic in ECE?


Hello Sir, I have completed Polytechnic in ECE and now I want to pursue Mechanical Engineering. Can I change my field from ECE to Mechanical? Will it be good for me? Please answer as soon as possible.

For getting admission in B.Tech mechanical engineering through lateral entry, you must have diploma in mechanical engineering. If you have diploma in any other stream, then you will get lateral entry in that stream only.

Hence, you are eligible only for ECE stream. Admission will be based on the performance in entrance exam and seats are allotted through counselling.
