Sorry, IGNOU does not offer a diploma in pharmacy course. You have to study the diploma in pharmacy course in any other pharmacy college to open a medicine shop. You should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examinations to study diploma in pharmacy. Duration of the course is two years. Diploma in pharmacy course contains 500 hours of practical training spreads over a period of not less than three months. It is advisable to study the diploma in pharmacy course in regular mode from a recognized college.

IGNOU offer post graduate diploma in pharmaceutical sales management. B.Sc, B.Pharma, BAMS, BUMS, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and also to Non- Science diploma in pharmacy.

Minimum duration is 1 year
Maximum duration is 3 years

Yes, you can surely study diploma in Pharmacy from IGNOU and open a pharmacy shop in future if you wish to.

There is no harm in it. You should however study hard and with full attention a opening a medical shop is quite easy but having the adequate knowledge of medicines is quite tough.
