The minimum qualification required for studying Polytechnic Diploma course is completion of 10th standard or equivalent from a recognised board. Some Polytechnic colleges offers direct admission in Diploma course based on 10th standard Board examination marks whereas some colleges offers admission by considering state entrance examination rank. So, if your state board conducts entrance examination for offering admission in Diploma course, you need to appear and qualify the entrance examination for getting admission in Diploma course.

Actually the minimum educational qualification required to study polytechnic diploma course is " 10th standard ". Although 10th standard students are eligible to for Diploma course there is also an eligibility for 12th candidates as well.

More over you can also do Polytechnic course after completion of 12th also. But it's all based on the career options. In fact with Diploma course you will have a chance to get a job in PSU's without GATE as Technical Assistant.

But it is not possible with the B.E/B.Tech candidates. They all need is GATE score to get job in various PSU's. And also you can apply for various Power stations with your qualification.

If you want to continue your education then you can give an exam called " Polycet like ECET there by you will get a admission in various colleges for B.E/B.Tech courses.

Educational Qualification Required to pursue Diploma Course:

>> The basic educational qualification required in order to be eligible for doing Diploma course is "10th Class or Matriculation Pass" from a recognized university.

>> Candidates who have completed 10th Class are eligible to pursue this Diploma course.

>> Diploma or Polytechnic course is a 3 year under graduate course which can be done after completion of 10th Class. There are many streams available in Diploma course namely, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Computer Science Engineering and Diploma in Chemical Engineering. I suggest you to choose the best stream based on your achievements and goals.

>> Besides this Eligibility Criteria you are required to write state level or central entrance examination namely PolyCET (Polytechnic Common Entrance Test). Candidates who secure valid score only are eligible to get admission into Diploma or Polytechnic course.

Hii,

For doing Polytechnic Diploma you must have 10th passed or equivalent course from a recognized board. You can take admission in Diploma on two basis- On the basis of your 10th pass certificate or on the basis of entrance exam conducted for selection of students for Diploma.Diploma course has high value than intermediate. As you get jobs after pursuing Diploma but, after 12th you cannot get any job.

Best of luck.

You just need to be a high school/ class 10 student for studying diploma. In most of universities there is no age restrictions.
Diploma degree is comparable to class 12 degree and after diploma you can also join bachelor degree courses.
