How much margin for SBI Education Loan against Rs. 7.5 Lacs for a course of Rs. 20 Lacs? How it can be calculated?


Friends,
I would like to know how much margin would be taken by SBI Bank for a Rs. 7.5 Lacs Education Loan if my full expenditure for the course is Rs. 20 Lacs? How is it calculated?

The margin for SBI Education loan greater than Rs. 4 lakhs is 5% for studies in India and 15% for studies in Abroad. The scholarship/ assistantship to be included in margin and it may be brought in on year-to-year basis as and when disbursements are made, on a pro-ratio basis. To get an education loan of more than Rs. 7.5 lakhs, you have to submit the collateral security documents related to property equal to bank loan amount to bank for processing your education loan.
