hi dear
Its your choice whether what you want to do. If you still want to study more of civil engineering then you should go for higher studies like MTech which will fourish your career. So chose whats the best for you. After MTech your will get 100 times better job than a BTech passout as MTech scope is lots. thanks |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
it is better thing to do the job after passout from btech civil engineering.
you can give the exam like indian engineering services ( IES ) and join the better jobs into the government sector. as civil engineering is the core branch , it offers many government jobs. so it is always the better thing that you can do the jobs instead of furthar studying for different courses. |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
Dear pal,
civil engineering is a good course and there are many masters course which you can do. If you wish to do job in private sector then you can apply seeing the advertisement in the newspaper. If you wish to apply for the public sector then you need to write GATE exam. The exam is held every year and the aspirant can appear in the branch in which degree is completed. With the gate score you can apply for your masters course too. The gate score is valid for a period of two years. Doing masters course or applying for the job depends on your interest and need. If your in need of a job then you can apply for it. Otherwise you can apply for GATE Exam if you prefer to do masters in engineering. If you are interested in doing masters in business administration then prepare for the CAT exam with which you can get into the colleges. You can also apply for the Indian engineering service too. Other service exam are indian administrative service, Indian police service. |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
Immediately after completing the course, you should try for jobs, and depending on the type of job, you can decide whether to go for higher studies or not.
The best option is to study courses on AUTOCAD, ARCHICAD, and the structural analysis software STAAD. These are most necessary skills for a civil engineer. |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
It is better to go for higher studies if you think that your theoretical knowledge will be enough to reach practical approach. And also if you are financially good. But if you settle in any job you can use your B.tech knowledge only which is limited. If you got job after completion of your higher studies it is some what better for future. And also you can go for research on the particular subject.
... ... .... I want to suggest you to "go for higher studies" Thanq friend... |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
Dear Friend,
If you have interest in continuing studies and dont have any financial problems, then i'd recommend you to complete your higher studies at one shot because giving a break in studies and continuing them after doing a job for some period doesn;t suit every one. |

Re: After Civil Engineering is it better to continue to higher studies or jobs should be preferred?
First of all try to get a good job in campus interviews ....if you got good job only after doing btech then there is no need to go further studies. you can start your carrier now. but if you are not getting any jobs then you must do higher studies like mtech or mba and increase your qualifications so that you will get good jobs. ...
