its heard that from 2013 onwards there is no optional subject for mains,common exam for all in mains,one general studies paper may be there and next is current problem with decision making skills,thats upto the information i got,u should verify

Dear,
The changes in mains are not implemented as till now but there are strong indications that it will be implemented from 2012 ( odds 20-80 ) or 2013 (80-20). New changes will scrap optional subjects exams from mains. It will have only GS papers along with English,Essay and Indian language. GS paper will be redistributed into different sections like indian polity paper,indian economy paper, histroy paper etc. It will create a same level for everyone to discourage current advantages to certain sections.

there is no change in the UPSC syllabus, its as it was earlier,


(Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs

Current events of national and international importance
History of India and Indian national movement
Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
Indian Polity and governance constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
Economic and social development sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
General science.

(Paper II) (200 marks) Duration : Two hrs

Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.
The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

Normaly wen i search for sylabus of upsc it cums ias,ips,ies,ifs are dis diferent exams rather wat i thnk itz only one exam under dat dis post cum ? Sayalus is same for al na ?

The details of UPSC Mains Syllabus is as Follows:-


>>Paper on Indian Language - Total Number of Marks 300.
These Languages are:-

Yes there is change in the syllabus and it is the marks for optionals will decrease from 1200 to 600 and the marks for general studies will increase from 600 to 1200
