hello sir ,
i had copmlet my deploma in 2004 in food technology in govt. collage.then i got job . now i m interest for to appear leteral entery in 2011 ojj
can i elegible for this, did i join in civil or machnical or any other branch b.tech. If it is possible then please give me the sylabus for lateral entry

hello dear

definately, you can take admission in btech civil engg engineering in after diploma in civil engg.

but to take admission in btech, you have to qualify JELET(joint entrance lateral entry test) exam.

AIEEE is the most important for lateral entry into second year of B.Tech.

also there is JELET examination for lateral entry into B.tech. but there is no lateral entry facility in IIT and NIT. so you can enter into this.

other state based many examination is available for lateral entry. if you have a very good marks also you may take admission in b.tech diretcly without appearing in any entrance examination.

you can go through these entrance exam:
AIEEE
IITEE
JEE

2.Syllabus is more or less equivalent to CBSE or Other class 12 (PCM).

But since you are presently in your 2nd year,you can not appear for latreral entry unless you have completed your diploma of appearing in final semester.

You can join in BE/B.Tech/B.Arch after diploma with CGPA 6.0.


Then your BE/B.Tech/B.Arch will be 3 years.

Ya you are eligible. You can join directly to 2nd year after finishing your diploma.

sir i have three years diploma in architecture. i want take admission in b.tech civil. can i take admission in b.tech civil threw lateral entry in b.tech civil. i am in jaipur. i went all engineering college in jaipur for admission but they said that rajasthan technical university cannot allow to take admission in lateral entry in b.tech civil for architecture diploma holders.

particular college where you want to admission, you can check online that college website.

Eligibility for Entrance Exams

In order to appear for entrance exams like AIEEE..a candidate must fulfill the following minimum criterion..

1) You should be a 12th pass out or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate percentage in your 12th which varies in every entrance exam (for AIEEE its 50%)

2) You should be within the age limit of 25 years..

3) For AIEEE..the maximum number of attempts is 3

You are also eligible for appearing in the lateral entry exams..

You can apply for lateral entry in any of the engineering colleges except for the NITs and IITs..

Almost all the private and deemed Universities conduct lateral entry exams fo direct admission to the 2nd year of their college..

You need to contact your desired college and buy the forms from there and if you clear the lateral entry exam then you shall get direct admission in the 2nd year of that college..

I have attached the information brochure of AIEEE which also contains the syllabus of the exam..and to that matter..most of the entrance exams have almost the same syllabus..
