Hello,
See CPT means common proficiency test. This is held by ICAI organization for shortlisting candidates for CA or chartered accountancy course. The subjects covered in CPT are accounts,Economics, mercantile laws and lastly, mathematics. All total marking on these subjects are 60+40 in one set and 50+50 in another set. CPT has two sections of tests which comes to a total of 200. Now among these marks you have to get 50% or more to be in the CA course. CPT can be opted for as many times as you want but CA course must be opted for the maximum of 5 times. So buckle your shoes and start preparing for it.

You can take admission in CPT when you are in class 12th

You can give the CPT exams once you have passed class 12th

CPT exams or Common Profiency tests are held in June and December each year

Next CPT exams would be held in December 2013
Forms for this exam would be filled in October 2013

Candidates who have appeared in class 12th exam or have passed class 12th exam can apply

In the CPT exams questions are asked from the below sections:
Fundamentals of accounting
Mercantile LAWS
General Economics
Quantitative Aptitude

All the questions are asked in objective mode only
Candidates scoring minimum 50% marks are declared as pass
There are negative markings of .25 for each incorrect answer.

CPT exams fees-Rs 1000

Fees for CPT Registration is:
Application Form-Rs 100
CPT registration fees-Rs 6000
Total Rs 6100

You can apply for the CPT course online through the website http://www.icai.org/cptform.html

>>CA Final Examination is the last and final level of Chartered Accountancy Examinations.

>>Any person who has passed both the groups of IPCC, during the last twelve months of articleship can take the Final Examination.

>>This exam consists of two groups of four subjects each viz. Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, Corporate and Allied Laws, Advanced Management Accounting, Information Systems Control and Audit, Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws.

>>A passing grade is awarded if the candidate obtains 40% marks in each subject and 50% in the aggregate in each group.

Marks for CA-CPT

Exam is considered a unit and there is no minimum marks for each subject separately.

An aggregate of 50% in all the papers together is required to qualify in the examination.

The pass mark therefore would be 100 out of a total of 200 in all the papers together.
