The Common Proficiency Test comprise of 200 marks, which is distributed as follows:
  • Fundamentals of Accounting- 60 marks
  • Mercantile Laws-40 marks
  • General Economics-50 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude- 50 marks
To qualify the test, one must score a minimum of 100 marks (50%).

To be declared as pass with distinction, one must score a minimum of 140 marks, (70%) in the Common proficiency Test.

To qualify the CPT, score should be minimum of 100 marks (50%) means 50% of all subject or 50% of each subject ? like if got 20 out of 60 in acc so can cover 10 marks in other subject ?

To clear a CPT exam 50% overall i.e. total aggregate must be 100 or above out of 200 is required,, not 50% in each subject is required. If you get less marks in one subject then you can compensate it by taking marks in another subject.
